No minerals = dead water?
There was a time when all the leading health experts recommended that absolutely pure water is the healthiest. But the opinions changed over time and with new knowledge. A doctor once said:
“One of the (by far) most brilliant men of recent times, Dr. Hans Nieper , was against the long-term use of distilled water, because it contained no minerals (so does not occur in nature). There is (a number) research about the fact that the demand for minerals, caused by the consumption of large amounts of mineral-free water itself can no longer be covered by mineral-rich food. “
Recently World Health Organization has formed an investigation committee “International Symposium on Health Aspects of Calcium and Magnesium in Drinking Water” which deals according to their own statement with many objectives related to water.
What WHO therefore says is that the long-term use of distilled water and mineral deficiencies can lead to health problems. If demineralized water is not healthy then what can be said about alkaline water, which contains minerals?
Minerals and alkalizing
Spring water which contains mineral material in the dissolved form usually has pH values around 7.0. This neutral pH measurement is only due to the presence of dissolved minerals such as calcium and magnesium. Minerals in the body act as a natural acid buffer and support the neutralization of acid wastes. Does that mean the adoption of mineralized water can alkalize the body, is that right? Not quite … The mineral content of municipal water is negligible. The alkalizing effect would be too small to be measurable. Even the mineral content of spring water, which is higher than for tap water, is not enough to affect the natural acid-forming processes of the body.
However, you can alkalize your body by eating large amounts of fruit and raw vegetables. These contain many important minerals and have a high water content, which supports the washout of acid residues from the body.
As another option you can take “colloidal” or “ionic” mineral supplements. As I said, minerals act as a natural acid buffer and complementary foods, which the minerals have been removed in modern agricultural practices. So this is what makes the body acidic. Thus alkaline water benefits on human body are very deep, not generally visible from the outside.
